(MES) has delivered the Star Japan (HN: 1532), a general cargo/ container carrier, one of the newest ships for the company Grieg Shipping A/S of Norway at its Tamano works. The Star Japan is the second vessel of the series built for the Grieg group after the first vessel, Star Juventus (HN: 1531) built for Grieg International II A/S in May 2004. Kawasaki Shipbuilding Corporation has completed the LPG carrier, LOTUS GAS (HN: 1620), for delivery to LPG Horizon Panama S.A. The LPG carrier is the Fifth of the same type of ships and 44th of the Kawasaki LPG carrier series built so far. The LPG carrier is designed with the new bow type called SEA-ARROW developed by the company. This can minimize the wave-making resistance at the bow during navigation, increasing the propulsion performance greatly. Koyo Dockyard Co., Ltd. of Imabari Group delivered the MOL COSMOS, an 8,102TEU type container carrier, on July 20, 2008 to Luster Maritime S.A./Higaki Sangyo Kaisha Ltd. The MOL COSMOS is the first 8,102TEU type container carrier built by Koyo dockyard. The ship-yard is starting very good in building of such type of ships, so MOL are in front of signing new contract with the yard. Sasebo Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (SSK) has completed construction of the 115,577 crude oil tanker, PACIFIC FANTASY (HN: 749). The ships with this size are better known as PanamaMax Size. The tanker is the tenth vessel of the 115,000DWT Aframax series built at the Sasebo Shipyard. The tanker is the flush deck type without forecastle. The 2,553TEU container carrier (among middle size container ships), CSCL HOUSTON (HN: 717), completed at the Innoshima Shipyard of Naikai Zosen corporation, was delivered to Peony Shipholding S.A. on Aug. 26.
